Mr. Rick Schneider talked to the students and faculty at the Chartwells' Scholar Breakfast Wednesday morning, May 7th. Students who made the third quarter honor roll and high honor roll as well as students who had improved their grade point average from second quarter were in attendance to hear Mr. Schneider's words of wisdom.
Chartwells provided a delicious breakfast for students and faculty. Father Martin led the opening prayer and introduced Mr. Schneider.
Mr. Schneider shared his views on the importance of academics in hard times. He told students how the economy was stressed when he graduated from college and how it is very similar to right now. It is very difficult to find employment. He challenged students to take every day very seriously when it comes to homework, quizzes, or tests because what they do now will impact their future options. He stated that sometimes high academics and hard work may make the differecne in attaining a job so you have to be at the top in terms of performance. Now is the future in this respect.
Students listened intently to this alumnus who has had so much success in coaching and in the business world. As two time area coach of the year and the coach of the Blugold State Championship Basketball team this year, students realized that his words are based on a solid foundation.
SPECIAL THANKS TO MR. STEVE ARNDT AND CHARTWELLS FOR HONORING OUR STUDENTS AGAIN!
